4-H Award

Miss Gloria Durden, a member of the Rappahannock Sr. 4-H Club, was named first district alternate in the dairy foods contest division of the district 4-H contests. The con. test was held at Madison on Saturday with nineteen northern Virginia counties parti-’ cipating. '■* Gloria, as first alternate winner, will receive a trip to the State 4-H Short Course held at V.P.I. in Blacksburg, June 22-24, if for some reason either of the two district^winners cannot attend. ■ She received a red award on her demonstration and $5.00 compliments of the Staunton area Dairy Council. She demonstrated making cheese souffle. Miss Durden, who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Durden of Sperryville, has been a 4-H member for eight years.
