On the second floor of the new building is a very modern cafeteria and auditorium where community meetings, suppers, socials, etc. are held, There is still very much to be done but the membership is very proud of what has already been accomplished and most deeply grateful to it’s neighbors and friends who have contributed so generously with their time and effort. A large Carnival lot, adjacent to the Fire Hall, has been acquired and the past two years have seen most successful annual 4th of July carnivals.
The present Chief is Garfield Williams. The Company has an active membership of 25 and a Junior Firemens 84-17} Club consisting of 9 very"e thusiastic young men.

Group Organized
Washington Fire Company made plans at their April 13 meeting to sponsor a Junior Firemen group. Fire Company president, Charlie Jenkins met with a group of interested boys from the area on April 16 for further discussion of the project. Those present were Roger Hawkins, Skippy Giles, Page Moffett, Tommy Brock, Ronnie Hawkins, Stewart Palnv er, Frank Moffett and Bobby Weakley. Additional boys between the ages of 12 and 17 are invited to attend the next meeting of the group which will be held i\pril 24 at 7:30 p.m. at the fire house. At this time officers of the newly organized group will be elected.
