The Second Annual Culpeper

The Second Annual Culpeper Horse Show, sponsored by the Culpeper County 4-H Horse and Pony Club, will be held at Rhoda-Lea Farm, eight miles east of Culpeper on Rt. 3, on Saturday, May 16, at 10:00 a.m. In the event of rain the .. Show will be postponed until May 23rd. As in the past, this Show will be open to all entries and is made up of twenty classes which' are divided into English and Western Divisions. The English Division will include Working Hunters, and Small and Large Pony Hunters. Each of these sub-divisions will stake classes as will the Western Division. Entry fees will be $1.00 per class except stake classes w hich will have an entry fee of $3.00 In addition to this Spring Show the Culpeper 4-H Light Horse and Pony Club also sponsors two additional shows during the year. The next after the spring show will be held during the last Week of July in connection with the Culpeper Farm Show and Fair, however this Show is open only to 4-H members who are in good standing. During Sept, the 4-H club will hold its second open show of the year, which will be a Junior Show open to all per sons under twenty-one.

\ United Clothing Appeal

This week has been designated by the Virginia Council of Churches as the time for i the collection of clothing for the United Clothing Appeal. There is a continuing need for this clothing around the world, and more particularly in our own Appalachian region. All types erf clothing are needed with particular em^phasis on children, both light and heavy weight. A box has been placed in “ the vestibule of the Trinity -Episcopal Church, Washington, Virginia, with the hope that any one having usable clothing will be able to place them there during this week. May 4 through 10. Your contributions will be greatly appreciated by the untold number of people who are in dire need of your help.
