& ■ Thousands of veterans each year run into delay in correspondence with the Veterans Administration because of fail* ure to identify themselves properly by use of their claims numbers, according to a recent statement by the VA.
With more than 22 million names of veterans in its files, there are hundreds of instances where names are copv pletely duplicated. The veterans claims number, called a C-number,-to the only wsy of assuring speedy, prompt identification.
In the same way, veterans writing to the VA about GI Insurance may quickly identify themselves by using the GI insurance policy number.
Edward M. Mathews, of the Front Royal Office of the Division of War Veterans* Claims, is in Washington at the Clerk's Office on 1st and. 3rd Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and will gladly give more details on this subject or any other matter connected with veteran's affairs. •
