BUDGET HEARING
SET FRIDAY
A budget committee for the County of Rappahannock has made tentative budget which has been published by the Board of Supervisors for the fiscal year June 30, 1964 to June 30, 1965. A meeting will be held Friday, May 8 at 10 a.m. in the courthouse at which time the budget will be discussed and acted upon either accepted or rejected. The grand total of the budget is $500,489.00, an increase from last year of $41,503.27. The proposed budget contemplates a levy rate of $3.70 an increase of 35 cents over last year’s levy. Greatest increase in fund allocation was for schools, an increase of 23,950.00 Increases occur also in public assistance, public health, care and confinement of prisoners and some Increases in salaries.
The public is welcome to attend the meeting Friday.'
