Blossom Festival
The 37th Apple Blossom Festival in Winchester last week as usual drew many attendants from this apple growing county. Orchardist Herbert Foster was seen enjoying the Pagaent on Friday morning in a heavy drizzle but well bundled up for the unusually cool weather. Mayor Dorothy ,.Davis ."attended - the 1 Mayors luncheon that is annually given by the Mayor of Winchester for officials in the apple growing area after which they participated in the parade* Mrs. Edward Harris, organic orchardist brought a group of youngsters to the festivities and others seen enjoying the parade were Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Hening, Miss Linda Rowzie, Segar Jones, Dotty Davis, and Robert Brock. Jr. Grand Marshy Lucille Ball's apricot hair complemented by a pink outfit from head to toe was the color shocker of the day. Another bit of color in the overcast gray day was provided by the citron yellow coat worn by First Lady, Mrs. Lyndon Johnson whose daughter Lucl Baines ruled as Queen Shenandoah the 37th. One of the biggest crowds of all time watched the parade in the cold raw drizzle but were i well rewarded by the unusual1 number of celebrities, the lovely girls on the floats, bands, antique cars, and the added activity of the Secret Service in behalf of the president's family and the national magazines there for that reason.
