The 1964 Carnival season will open in Rappahannock on June 24th when the Washington Firemen will hold their annual Carnival, June 24, 25, 26 and 27. The four day event will hold such attractions as the crowning of the Carnival Queen on Wednesday, the 24th by the present reigning queen Miss Kay Johnston, a grand parade on Thursday, the 25th, a parachute jumping contest to be featured on Friday night the '26th, at the Carnival grounds and the Ford Fairlane car and other prizes to be given away on Saturday night. A good assortment of rides and other amusements have Ibeen arranged by Chairman Gibson Wharton with the McSpadden Amusement Company of Florida. Parade Chairman EdwardM. Clark announces that the Grand Marshal of the Thursday night parade will be Miss Joanne Heegar, a ihember of the cast at the Wayside Theatre in Middletown. Will Meet Tonight
The newly reorganized Rappahannock Game and Fish Club will meet in the courthouse, Washington, on Thursday, June 4 at 8 p.m. DST A speaker from Madison Wildlife Association will be present and Charles Foster will show a film. All who are Interested in the club are invited to attend the meeting.
