Among those attending the commencement exercises at Shenandoah College last Sunday in Winchester were Mrs. Thelma Russell and Miss Ginger Russell. Also Mrs. Mrs. Mary J. Russell of Orleans, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Tohline of Philadelphia, Pa. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Russell and John Kemp, all of Arlington. J, G. Russell was a member of the graduating class. * Mrs. Maude Dodson has returned to her home from a recent visit with her daughter, Mrs. Virginia Gochenour at Woodstock. Robert Cook of Harper’s Ferry spent two days this week with his parents Capt. and Mrs. J. p*. cook. Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Pullen were Mr. and Mrs. Wade Jeffries and Mr. and Mrs. James Settle and sons of Manassas. The Rev. and Mrs. James Grimmer spent the Memorial Day weekend as the guests of Mrs. Grimmer’s father, P. D. Barham in Portsmouth. Miss Jackie Majette of Portsmouth is the guest this week of the Grimmers. Edgar (Butch) Browning returned Monday from the University of Virginia. After spending Monday night at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John S. Browning he left on Tuesday by plane from Washington, D. C. for Memphis, Tenn. where he will be employed for the summer at the First National Bank of Memphis. Trooper and Mrs. P. P. Dicks were in Harrisonburg on Sunday and attended the wedding: of Miss Ruby Holloman to former Trooper Donald Craur^ both of Harrisonburg. Trooper and Mrs. Dicks were called to Hillsville this week by the death of Mrs. Dicks' grandmother Mrs. Cora Marshall. Miss Jean Hickerson of Arlington spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. James Dodson. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Banaski and daughter Vicky of Washington, D. C, were week-end guests bf Mr.'andMfs.-Carson Lillard. Miss Judy Lillard arrived home Friday from Ferrum Junior College. She will return there on June 21st to attend the summer school session.
