Norton, Superintendent of Schools of Rappahannock County, reported to the Supervisors at the September Board meeting that the sewage disposal facilities at Washington Elementary School were in bad condition and needed attention. These facts were concurred by Sanitation Officer Cephas Hook. Action was taken by the board and $4,000 was allocated for a sewage plant. Dr. L. O, Fears, of the county health department, appeared at the meeting to present additional information on a rabies vaccination clinic for dogs. He stated that only a licensed veterinarian could administer the live virus vaccine. Members of the board voted to have a clinic with a nominal charge of $1 per dog for vaccination.
