Regional Meeting
The Rappahannock JCs. who attended the fall regional meeting in Waynesboro Sunday September 13 included: president, T, C. Lea; internal V. P., Garfield Burke; external V.P., Jimmy Wayland; Treasurer, Rodney Vest, State Director, Sonny Brown; and Junior Leake. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the fall activities in which the JCs of Region V are to participate, and to talk over the JCs role in current affairs. To carry out this objective several forums were set up, and the following representatives attended the various group discussions; Jimmy Wayland - International Affairs and Local Affairs; Rodney Vest - International Affairs and National Affairs; Sonny Brown - Youth Affairs and State Affairs; Junior Leake - Youth Affairs and State Affairs; Garfield BurkeNational Affairs and Public Affairs; and T. C. Lea - The forum for local Presidents. The meeting began at 10:00 a.m. and extended throughout the afternoon. It proved to be both beneficial and enjoyable to all concerned.
Lillard auto, was taken to Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal with a head injury. Near Massies Corner on Rt 211 September 13 two vehicles sideswiped. Henry Miller of Arlington operating a 64 Oldsmobile was struck by John Patrick Lee of Vermont in a 63 Chevrolet, said Trooper Burv tin. He stated that apparently the Lee vehicle went into the left land on a curve and sideswiped the Miller car. The highway was wet.
Damage to the Miller ve-> hide was estimated at $300 and to the Lee car $400.
