Federal, state and local) authorities working together seized a still near Viewtown and apprehended the operator Monday morning. Jasper (Buster) Yowell, Jr., the operator who gave his address as Brandy Station, was taken into custody and charged with violating Federal liquor laws. He was taken to Charlottesville to appear before a U. S. Commissioner. Working on the case were Rappahannock Sheriff C. K. Estes, William Roberson, Jr. of the Federal Alcohol and Tobacco Tax Department and Ted Pangle of the State Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. They seized and destroyed the 100 gallon still, threw out 40 gallons of mash and confiscated 17 gallons of illegal whiskey in the raid.

Benefit Red Cross
There will be a benefit Fashion Show, Luncheon and Pageant, Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 12 noon EST at Fauquier Springs Club sponsored by Fauquier Chapter of the American Red Cross. Fashions for the occasion will be furnished by Mary Elizabeth’s of Connecticut Avenue and Red Cross [uniforms from World War I through to the present will be modeled by local Chapter mem bers. Reservations for the luncheon which starts promptly at noon are available until Thursday, Sept. 17 by calling Warrenton 347-1620. Honorary Chairman for this event is Mrs. Joe Hume Gardner and Chairman is John Fox Bowman. Numerous door prizes are another added attraction for this benefit entertainment.
