Should no one select the right calf, prizes will be awarded to those coming closest to making the correct selection. All Rappahannock beef cow owners are invitecl to attend and join in the contest. C. E. Johnson, jr. will be on hand to give the pros and cons and answer questions any one may have about his ten years experience in the "official* BCIA program. Herd data submitted under the commercial program is just as useable as that under the official program consequently what Mr. Johnson will have to relate about his experiences could easily apply to a commercial operation. As a bit of preview: in 1963 there were 8012 calves in the official BCIA program. These calves had an adjusted average daily gain of 1.77 pounds. This year, Ned's sixty odd calves had an adjusted average daily gain of 2.25 lbs. This has been accomplished through a culling and selection program based on BCIA data. Comes next Wednesday there'll be no obligation... there'll be no entry fee. All cowmen will be welcomed.

Hold H. D. Meeting

The Chester Gap Home Demonstration Club met at the Fire Hall last Thursday night, with the following members present: Mrs. LaMerle Williams, Anna Williams, Ethel Williams, Iva Williams, Dorcas Kuser, Minnie Williams, Mrs. Grace Moore, Mrs. Parks, Mrs. Ilene Davis, Maybelle Gilkey, Miss Doris Daugherty, the Misses Mattie and Jessie Williams, Linda Dulln, Barbara Pullen, Mrs. Lucy Williams, Naomi Dulln, Edna Williams, Lillian Fox, Weltie Willis and Wayne Williams. After Devotions led by Jessie Williams, Roll Call by the Secretary and discussion of old and new business, an interesting demonstration on upholstering was given by Hubie Gilkey. The following guests were welcomed; Mrs. Marion Woodward* Mrs,, Gay Perking; Mrs. Mary Beach, Mrs. Ome-1 go Hitt and Mrs. Katherine Riley of the Amlssville Club. Mrs. Grace Moore and Mrs. Davis of the Chester Gap Club attended a leaders training meeting at Washington on last Wednesday.
