Spring is in the air! Students are crossing fingers and hoping for a spring vacation. Many are dis cus s ing plans for a real super summer.
The “big" question in the minds of numerous Seniors is, “What career will I choose after graduation?” Mr. Biggs of the Virginia Employment Service gave tests to help Seniors find fields in which they might be successful and find personal fulfillment. The results brought happy smiles to many faces.
Students accepted at college are; David Palmer, VPI; Tim Kilby, VPI; Virginia Bradford Mary Washington College; Leslie Titchenell, Georgetown College; Linda Beahm, Monroe College of Business; and Frances Dodson will be entering the Marines.
The Juniors are also looking to the future. Last week they took National Merit Scholarship tests. “Butch” Browning- congratu lations on winning the Woodrow Wilson Scholarship.' All RCHS is proud of you. April 10 the curtain will rise on “The Custer’s Last Stand,” which is the name of the Senior play. The play is hilarious; everyone come and join the humor. The annual apple pie baking contest was held Friday. Betty Clarke took first place with a really delicious pie. Nancy Lillard and Darlene Woodard were “runners up.” Betty will compete at James Wood High on April 29, with students of various high schools. Betty, congratulations and good luck the 29th!
