Mrs. Alice Jenkins
Mrs. Ackie Susan Jenkins, 78, died on Tuesday night, March 9, 1965 at her home in Front Royal. She was born in Rappahannock County, a daughter of the late Jacob and Lucy Dodson. Her husband, Benjamin F. Jenkins, preceded her in death in 1950. She is survived by four sons, Lee H. Jenkins and Clarence W. Jenkins of Culpeper, James F. Jenkins of California and Henry H. Jenkins of Sarasota, Fla.; six daughters, Mrs. Gertie Atkins, Mrs. Myrtle Frazier, Mrs. Lena M. Atkins and Mrs. Florence M. Dodson, all of Culpeper, Mrs. Susan Clark and Mrs. Anna M. Jenkins of Front Royal; one sister, Mrs. Laura S. Jenkins of Sperryville. Also by five halfbrothers, Ellis Dodson, Strasburg. Tommy Dodson, North Carolina, William Dodson, Roy Dodson and Buchanan Dodson, of Leon, Va., two halfsisters, Mrs. Bertie Atkins of Sperryville and Mrs. Nellie Dodson of Woodville, 41 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Monday, March 15 at 2 p.m. from the First Baptist Church in Front Royal, conducted by the Rev. Lawrence E. Matthews with interment in the Sperryville cemetery.
