Mrs. Mamie Tharpe, wife of Clyde W. Tharpe of Culpeper died Sunday, March 14, 1965 at University of Virginia Ho& pital. Daughter of the' late James Tharpe and the late Lillie Mae Tharpe and a native of Rappahannock County, she was 59. Besides her husband, she is survived by five sons, Clyde Henry, John Thomas, James Ashby, William Lewis and Clarence Russell Tharpe, all of Culpeper; five daughters, Mrs. Mamie Lemmons of Balti more, Md., Miss Emma Lee, Miss Anna Belle, Miss Mar garet Virginia and Miss Gladys Msfrle Tharpe, all of Culpeper; nine grandchildren; four brothers, Eddie and Wade Tharpe, both of Culpeper, Wit liam Tharpe of Amissville, and Henry Tharpe of Rockville Md.; and four sisters, Mrq Lizzie Tharpe of Amissville, Mrs. Helen Jeffers of Fauquier Springs, Mrs. Bertha Pull en of Amissville, and Mrs. Maude Pullen of Manassas. A funeral service was held Wednesday, March 17, at 11 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church the Rev. F. Edison ClelancT conducting the last rites. In terment followed in Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Clarence Gore, Ashby Gore, Dewey Backe, Jim Carpenter, Bill Curtis, Clarence Wayland, Frank Bruce and William Gor^ Geest funeral chapel was in charge of arrangements.
