Oak Shade Methodist
Homecoming Sunday
The annual Homecoming for Oak Shade Methodist Church in Rixeyville will be held Sunday, September 12. Following the 11 a.m. worship service lunch will be served on the premises under the oak trees. The Jeffersonton Community Choir will sing in the morning and share in the Hymn Sing which follows the noon meal. The pastor. The Rev. James L. Harrison, and the members cordially invite you to be present.
Retires from Service
T/Sgt. Robert C. Lewis of Sperryville has retired after serving 20 years with theMili tary Forces. Mr. Lewis served two and a half years with the US Navy and during World War II was stationed in the Pacific Theatre. The remainder of the time he has been in the US Airforce. He served two 2-year tours in Germany and two fn Italy and has been serving in Greenland. At present he is spending some time with his mother Mrs. Virginia Lewis, Sperry ville.
