Two traffic collisions were reported Friday and another occurred early Sunday morning in Rappahannock County, according to State Police, otherwise the rush of holiday traffic moved smoothly in this area. Friday afternoon at 3. p. m. about three miles east of Wash, ington on Route 211 an auto from Texas and a tractor working on the road construction collided. Leonard Clarkson Michael of Mt. Solon, operating a 1958 Caterpillar tractor DW21pulk ing a pan attempted to make a left turn as a 1950 Chevrolet operated by Peter Tautfest of Austin, Texas started to pass. The Tautfest vehicle was crushed, but no injuries were sustained by the driver or his wife who was a passenger in the car. Tautfest was charged with failing to yield the right of way by Trooper W. A. Buntin who investigated. The tractor and pan were owned by McAllister Construe, tion Co. of Roanoke, the contractor who is working on the dual laning of Route 211 at the Massies Corner intersection.
At 6 p. m. the same day at the west end of Sperryville on Route 211 a 63 Ford Sports hardtop was struck when the driver made a left turn in front of an oncoming vehicle. Operating the Ford was Raymond Roscoe Cook of Falls Church who made a left turr into an apple stand and was struck in the side by a 65 Plymouth operated by Byron
