Mrs. Mary Jo Roberts and daughter Penny and Miss Sandy Orange of Mt. Airy, N. C. spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. B. Orange. Mrs. J. H. Johnson is visiting Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Johnson.
Miss Olive Soutter of Fredericksburg is the guest of the Misses Lillie and Nellie Johnson. Sunday callers were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Dunham and daughters Debbie and Anne of Woodbridge, Mr. and Mrs. William Johnson, Mrs. C. B. Johnson and Mrs. H. B. Wood. Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Johnson were in Richmond Thursday to visit Mrs. E. W. Hechler and Mrs. R. M. Johnson.
Diamond mining normally requires complicated equipment, but the biggest known diamond was extracted with a penknife, the National Geographic says. In 1905, a mine superintendent in South Africa noticed a glimmer on the wall of a mine and, after a few moments of digging, picked out a one-pound six-ounce giant, the Cullinan. The gem is set in the British Royal Scepter.
