Hatchery Fishing Over for the Season
Eight ponds at the Commission of Game and Inland Fish eries Front Royal Hatchery near Waterlick which have been open to angling all summer on an experimental basis will close Labor Day, accord ing to Fish Division Chief R. G. Martin. The angling experiment is to evaluate a 12 inch size limit enforced on four of the ponds. The remaining ponds have no size limit. A similar evulation of a 14 inch minimum size limit was completed at the hatchery last year. The current studies com plement experiments with 12 inch limits which have been initiated on the Shenandoah and Roanoke River systems.
