Commission To Consider Fish Laws
The Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries will meet in Richmond Saturday, Sept. 18, to consider changes in the fish regulations for 1966, ac cording to Executive Director Chester F. Phelps. Also, to be considered first on the agenda, will be a tentative proposal to close the waters and marshes of Back Bay and its tributaries to goose shoot ing for the first two weeks of the season until the opening of duck hunting on Nov. 20.
A public hearing to begin at 9;30 a.m. will give interested sportsmen an opportunity to present their views on the Back Bay item as well as on desired changes in the fish regulations. Persons unable to attend in person may present their recommendations in writing to the Executive Director who, in turn, will bring them to the attention of the Commission.
Recommendations for changes in fish regulations not presented by Sept. 18 are not likely to be considered by the Commission for another year, since working new re gulations into existing seasons and published material in mid year is difficult.
