Shenandoah River

Data from the first year of an intensive three year evaluation of the Shenandoah River sport fishery reveals heavy fishing pressure and excellent fishing success, lacking only quality, not quantity, according to Fish Research Biologist Eugene W. Surber who heads the project. Based on aerial and ground surveys a total of over 76,000 fisherman hours were tallied on the 57.7 mile stretch of the river Hander study during the 1964 fishing season.
