Week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jack W. Bruce were their daughter, Miss Diane Bruce, a student at Longwood College, and two classmates Miss Liz Broaddus of Hopewell and Miss Carol Hoffmyer of Williamsburg. Mrs. Thomas Baldwin, Sr. and Mrs. Gid Clater were cohostesses at a bridal shower on Friday evening at the V. F. W. Hall in honor of Mrs. Thomas Baldwin, Jr. with about 25 guests present. The attractive gifts were displayed and refreshments served. Mrs. Edward Payne and Miss Shirley Brown of Alexandria were guests for the week-end of their mother, Mrs. Catherine Brown. Mrs. Perle Coffey with Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Rector and ^daughter, Miss Rebecca Rector of Flint Hill were in Ft. Knox, Ky. for the week-end to visit Abe Burke who is stationed there with the Armed Forces. Mr. and Mrs. David V. Chap 'men, Jr. of Richmond were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. David Chapman.
