OBITUARIES
Kerford Smith Putnam, age 65 years, died early Sunday morning, October 3, 1965 of a heart conditiftn at his farm in Rappahannock County near Amissville. Mr. Putnam was born and raised in the Amissville neighborhood and was the son of the late Berry Putnam and Narcissus Payne Putnam. He moved to Washington, D. C. from Amissville about 22 years ago; later becoming a resident of Fairfax and the owner and operator of a barber shop in Arlington. He is survived by his wife, Mary Musgrove Putnam and a son, Ralph of Fairfax; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Knott of Dunn Loring; two brothers, Herbert Putnam of Hyattsville, Md., and Ernest Putnam of Arlington; three sisters, Mrs. Agnes Edgin of St. Petersburg, Fla., Mrs. Lorena Borg of Washington, D. C., and Mrs. Ada Mason of Seat Pleasant, Md.; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 o’clock on Wednesday, October 6, from the Amissville B a p t i s t Church with the pastor. Rev. Charles Kindred officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. The Geest Funeral Parlors were in charge of the arrangements.
