Game Warden Speaks
At Lions Dinner
Robert Inskeep, Game Warden of Page County, was guest speaker at the dinner meeting of, the Rappahannock Lions Club held last Wednesday at Hampton Inn. Mr. Inskeep showed a film on rainbow and brook trout which explained the operation of state hatcheries and the stocking of trout streams. There are 700,000 trout being raised this year to stock Virginia streams. A question and answer and general discussion periodfollowed the film. Appointed and attending the Zone Meeting of Lions Clubs held at Remington February 14 were Zone Chairman Paul Nichols of Flint Hill and Treasurer James W. Costes of Sperryville. This wastheregu1 lar meeting of the Remington Club and the zone meeting which included Culpeper clubs, Fauquier County clubs, and Rappahannock club.
Harry Meades Wins
Golf Match with 68
“I was terribly thrilled, especially when I dropped a birdie putt on the 18th green before a fair size crowd to go into first place,” said Harry Meades of Amissville when he won the golf match last week at the East Bay Country Club in Largo, Fla. He had a low ball of 68 and was partnering' Matty Fergol. Mr. and Mrs. Meades are wintering in the south and Mr. Meades has been playing the Pro-Am golf circuit in central Florida. Before his first place last week he had finished fifth at Fort Lauderdale. In March Mr. and Mrs. Meades will play in the Male and Female Tournament in Largo and the Husband and Wife Tournament in St. Augustine.
The Meades have been to Puerto Rico where they visited their son and to St. Thomas and St. Croix.
