Pvt. Joseph G. White (above) of Slate Mills has graduated from the U.S. Army Training Center, Fort Knox, Ky., as "Outstanding Trainee" of his class. He received an ‘‘Oscar" In recognition of this honor, which was conferred by Capt. David McMUllon, commanding officer. He Is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carter White of Slate Mills and a 1962 graduate of Culpeper County High School. He also graduated from the Nashville Auto-Diesal School, Nashville, Tenn., and worked at Atlantic Research at Gainesville. Joe, who Is attached to a National Guard unit In Fredericksburg, hopes to locate In business in Culpeper.
