' Following lunch Mr, Buchholz and Mr. Day, of the cooperative's regional office in Winchester, presented a color slide report entitled 'Pace Setting in Cooperative Merchandising.* It emphasized the services offered by the cooperative’s retail outlets at the local community level and improvements that will benefit patron-members and plans for the future.
Mr. D. D. Ball of Ruckersville, a director of the cooperative, presided at the session.
In his opening remarks Mr. Ball recognized the young farmers invited to the session and pointed out that the cooperative has a "continuing interest in young farmers and farm youth." In addition to supporting"Young Farmer programs, the organization supports 4-H, FFA, FHA and similar groups," he said. "Through the cooperative's scholarship program," he added, "over 175 farm youth have been helped in getting a college education since 1957; 32 are now enrolled on scholarships at the five land grant
