Earl Yancey Second In Public Speaking
Earl Yancey of Amissville, a junior at Rappahannock Cour> ty High School and member of the Future Farmers of America, placed second In a public speaking contest held Monday night at Winchester. Competition was among the F.F.A. Chapters of the Triangle Federation which is composed of six high schools. Earl spoke on “The Silent Sickle" and discussed agriculture problems facing Russia. He was topped by a student from James Wood High School, Winchester who took first place. In third place was Loudoun County High School. There were six contestants. This is the third time Earl has placed in the top three positions in federation competition The shop judging team of RCHS competed in federation judging last week at a meet held at Clarke County High School. The team is made up of Donald Williams, Lawrence Ricker and Eddie Flock. Donald was second high individual out of 18 participants. All FFA work and training is under the direction of VoAg instructor F. S. Boze.
NOTICE
Supt. O. A. Norton will be at Rappahannock County High School on Thursday, March 17 at 8 p. m. to explain the necessary changes in the County school program and also the projected building plans proposed by the Rappahannock County School Board.
