close of this school session. A native of Winchester, Mr. Wingfield graduated from Handley High School. He served four years in the United States Navy aboard the aircraft carriers, USS Midway and USS Valley Forge. This tour of duty in the Navy enabled visits to European, African and Caribbean countries. He received his honorable discharge in 1956. He was manager of Thom McAn Shoe Store, in Harrison burg in 1957. Mr. Wingfield received his B. S. Degree in 1960 and his M. S. Degree in 1963 from Madison College, Harrisonburg.
He has worked in the Montevideo High School, Rockingham County, from 1960 to 1966 as teacher, assistant prin cipal and Supervisor of Intermediate School. Mr. Wingfield is married tc the former Jo Ann Taylor of Harrisonburg and has twochil dren, Denise, age 4, and Cathv, age 1. He is a member of the Muhlenberg Lutheran Church.
