The quarterly meeting of Rappahannock Historical Society will be held at the Court House next Tuesday at 8 p. m. Mrs. Judson C. French, Chai* man of legislation for Montgomery County committee on beautification, will favor us with a talk and film on the conservation, polution, and values of rural streams and water supplies. This program is to be oriented to Rappahannock County needs. There is a growing feeling that land values in this county are in direct ratio tq the streams and water facilities connected to the land. The values of our streams for the future cannot now be estimated. What we do know is that the losses to the County will be very great if we do not take good care of the waterways we have. Further enlightenment on the subject is possible on Tuesday night. The meeting is open to all who are interested wheth er members or not. Guests are encouraged to attend. Anyone wishing to join the Society may do so by requesting membership through the Treasurer, Jock Brown, at the County Court House. Dues are $3.00 per year, $5.00 for husband and wife, $1.00 for children. The Society is preparing headquarters in the old telephone exchange which is now being moved and restored. Any help towards this project will be welcomed.
