Music, Fireworks

Scheduled on Fourth

Fourth of July activities in Washington, Va. will include a> benefit plate supper for Rappahannock County Library and hour of recorded band music, a display of fireworks and luminari display. For the third year, a plate Supper is being sponsored on the Fourth for the benefit of the county library, and will again be served at the monument near the courthouse between the hours of 6 and 8 p. m. In addition to the plate supper which is $1.50, there will be hot dogs, cold drinks, and cake available at reasonable prices. following the supper, there will be an hour of band music via hi-fi which can be heard from the hillside at the lake at Avon Hall, home of Mr. and Mrs. William Carrigan. The music, by the U. S. Army Band on record, is provided through the good offices of Col. E. A. McNear of Greenwood, near Washington. The display of fireworks at Avon Hall has been a Fourth of July feature by the Carrigans for several years, although it is not connected with the library activities. The Carrigans annually invite all who Wish to come to view the fireworks and enjoy the birthday of our nation on the hills around the lake.
