Ring the Bells
The Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, ^Daughter s of the American Revolution and Culpeper Post #2524 of Veterans of Foreign Wars are encouraging all Americans, especially the Youth, to “RING THE BELLS’ on July fourth at 2 p.m for four minutes. In nationwide observance of American Independence Day, bells of all types: public, private, church, school, fire and town bells will ring out the message of liberty as did the first liberty bell 190 years ago. Reviving the original custom in 1963, in Washington, Senate Resolution #25 was passed requesting that all Americans ring bells of any description. For the past three years, this project has been included in the Governor’s July Fourth Proclamation. Individuals are urged to participate in this bell ringing and to display Flags of the United States of America with pride and joy. Help revive the custom in your community.
