Chariot E. George
Charles E. George, 70, well known Charles Town owner and trainer of horses, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, November 12, at the Charles Town race course. He retired from Southern Railroad in 1958, the last of his immediate family. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Daisy Wayland George. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, November 15 at 11 a.m. at Melvin T. Stryder Funeral home in Charles Town by the Rev. Howell McClay. interment was in the Masonic Cemetery in Washington, Va. Pallbearers were James A. Palmer, George Lally, Howard Phillips, Roy Herring and Manuel Harrison.
Lt.-Col. Harry DuChaine
Lt. Col. Harry R. DuChaine USAF (Ret.) of Lanham, Md. died Friday, November 18, 1966 at Veterans Administration Hospital. He jyas 72„ a
native etfniWi&tohsi^. and farmer administrative assistant with the Agriculture Department. Col. DuChaine spent some time in Amissville when he owned the “Katherine Anderson farm* near here, now owned by Fannons. During World War II, he served in the Air Force in the Pentagon and as civilian personnel officer in Miami, Fla. He was past master of Congress Lodge No. 37 of the Masons and had been worthy patron of Bethany Chapter No. 24 of the Order of the Eastern Star. Col. DuChaine was past commander of American Legion Post No. 36, a member of the Forty and Eight and Almas Temple. Survivors include his wife Helen and a daughter Helen Williams of the home address and a stepson, John Donnelly of Hillcrest Heights, Md.
