Red Cross Responds

To Family Needs

Distance doesn’t concern Red Cross when Americans are in need. Through its program of services to the armed forces , Red Cross responds to the needs of the nation's military...wherever they may be stationed. At one end of a worldwide service channel is the Red Cross field director. f{n the space of a few hours, the field director may have to inform a, serviceman of serious illness or death in his family, help him with his application for military leave, and provide emergency funds, if necessary. Back home at the other end of the llne.;.is the local Red Cross chapter. Getting the facts and helping meet family problems caused by emergency situations is part of its job in providing services to military families. Several Rappahannock County families have had need of such a service in recent months. The Red Cross was there, ready to help, as it always is, at any time.
