The Sunmobile — a model car powered by sunlight — is one of the exciting demonstrations in store for Rappahannock High School students when General Motors Previews of Progress is presented on Fri. Dec. 9, 1966 at 9:05 a.m. Photoelectric cells on the hood of the 15-inch Sunmobile convert solar energy into electrical power. In the Previews show a 300-watt lamp is used to simulate the sun's rays. As the light strikes the button-like cells, the car moves smoothly across the table. There are no plans to produce sun-powered cars in the foreseeable future," CM President James M.
