Three minor traffic crashes have been reported in the past week. A wreck involving two pick up trucks occurred Thursday, December 1 on Route 729 near Forest Grove School. A 65 Ford pick up operated by James Edward Magner of Rixeyville and a 64 Chevrolet pick up operated by James Brown of Amissville sideswiped on a curve. Damage to each was estimated at $100 by Trooper W. A. Buntin who investigated. There were no injuries and no charges were made. On December 4 at 3 p.m. a half mile east of Sperryville a single-car accident occurred apparently the result of a blow out. Herwarth Friedrick Halenz of Berrien Springs, Md. operating a 60 Chrysler, ran off the left of the highway and struck a tree. He sustained a back injury and damage was estimated at $800, according to investigating officer W. A. Buntin. Two vehicles collided on Route 640 about six and a half miles west of Amissville Satus day evening. A 59 Ford convertible operated by Peggy Cook Menefee of Warrenton and a 61 Chevrolet operated by George Michael Mozingc and owned by Minnie Pearl Mozingo of Rixeyville met on the crest of a hill. The Mozingo vehicle struck the Menefee car, according to Trooper J. B. Willis. Mozingo was charged with failing to drive to the right of the road, said the officer.
