************ L. D. Shaeffer, owner of Greenfield and J. T. Woodward, Jr. of Castleton made the most recent purchases of the blue line print blowups of the soil survey map including their farm. Also Mrs. Sheffield of Viewtown visited the office expressing her husband's Interest. Mr. Sheffield's place Is on several prints. He will come by, point out his farm boundaries so he can get a cut out. Wayne Hayes, was another caller, saw the maps being colored for our Planning Commission, Inquired about them. When he learned they were “Suitability for Building Maps* he became intensely interested now that he is selling realestate.
Blue line prints, of our soil survey maps on scale of 1 in. to 660 ft., are available for $1.00 at this office. Classification of our soils for suitability for homestead sites, basements, septic tanks, different types of construction, lawns, etc. has been completed I by Soil Scientist, Coleman and i1 Porter. Mimeographed hand-'' jouts of the classifications are 1 ready for the asking. The Soil Suitability Maps for Buildings for the Commission are based on the classifies- ] tions and are coloured* green , for “favorable*, yellow for “questionable,* orange for ] “unfavorable" and red for j “flood plains.* Pretty too — come see.
