He says that diet and weight are most important and should be controlled from the age of 12 or before.
“We are an overnourished nation and we should wake up and regard excessive food as a serious health hazard.
“Also, a good supply of blood is needed, and this means not only avoidance of over-nutrition but also physical fitness in terms of firm and active muscles."
Amissville H.D. Club
The Amissville Home Demonstration Club held its month ly meeting Tuesday Night, Feb ruary 14th, in the Educational Rooms of the Baptist Church, with the President, Mrs. Robert B. Settle, presiding. There were 21 present, including the Agent. Mrs. Loretta D. Clater was received as a new member by the group. Mrs. H. R. Terhune was appointed Program Development Leader, and will be supervising the Club’s workshops and planning program. Miss Diane Brown, County Agent, gave an informative talk on plants and shrubbery, using slides. A social period followed, with Mrs. Stanley Settle and Mrs. Nelson Burner serving as hostesses. The Club’s regularly scheduled meetings are held the first Monday of each month at 7;30 p.m. The March meet ing will be on Crewel and Cross-Stitch Embroidery. A sincere welcome to the meetings is extended to anyone in the Community interested in visiting or becoming a member of the Club.
