At Middleburg Meet
A conference concerned with the production of forage crops will be held at the Middleburg Community Center, Middleburg March 1. All interested farmers are invited to attend, says Harlan White, assistant extension agronomist at Virginia Tech. Talks will be heard on feeding urea in the rations of dairy and beef animals, how to reduce costs of raising beef calves, and intake of corn silage as affected by moisture and stage of maturity. The event will begin at 10 a.m. A tour of research facilities at the Northern Virginia Pasture Research Station will be held in the afternoon. Lunch will be available at the community center. Formation of a cultivated sod. producers association will be discussed Friday, March 3 at the Middleburg Community Center, according to John F. Shoulders, associate extension agronomist at Virginia Tech. ' . All sod producers, installers and other interested pefsons are urged to attend, says the agronomist. The meeting, scheduled to start at 10 a.m., will be a follow-up of the sod producers meeting held in December at Middleburg. Several specialists are scheduled to speak.
