Panther Tales

Last week the RCHS “Panthers* put another basketball season behind them after they played the Stonewall Jackson High School “Generals*. The “Panthers* lost by a score of 73 to 51. The Junior Varsity scores were Stonewall Jackson 54, Rappahannock 19. The cheerleaders put forth a great effort to encourage the teams at the Stonewall Jackson game. Junior cheerleaders. Denise Wingfield and Vicki Marshall gave a delightful boost to the Rappahannock cheering section and fascinated the other basketball fans, [t was a great end for the season. This week Seniors have been busy placing orders for their caps and gowns. With invitations, gowns and other such items we seniors have to get its becoming a pretty expensive year. I just hope our parents' wallets are well stocked. The teacher's profile this week is that of Mrs. Christine T. Johnston. Mrs. Johnston was born in Haywood, Madison County. After attending Madison High School she went to Mary Washington College from which she received a professional degree in Art. She also has had additional art courses at the University of Virginia. While in college Mrs. Johnston was a member of Y.W.C.A. At R.C.H.S. Mrs. Johnston teaches first, second and third year art. She and her husband Mr. T.
