history, through the catalogues of State Papers and Public Records, and through the large collection of microfilm from England and Colonial Virginia now available at the Library. Mr. Church gave a warning and a challenge to Historical groups. He said we must not compete or duplicate the work of the Library or other agencies in the historic field, but to study, publicize and expand the general knowledge.
It was obvious to all present in the afternoon general session that there was great need for communication and organization of the numerous Historical groups. To that end a motion was passed to have an appointed committee study the possibility of forming a federation of Historical Societies in the State, Mr. James W. Moody was appointed chais man.
