If Congress; should go along with thePresi-j dent’s request for a six per- i cent surcharge on most individual taxes, local residents will have to pay a proportionate share of that additional levy. The President’s budget for the next fiscal year, which begins on July 1st, calls for personal income taxes totaling $73.2 billion, including the sur-j charge. That is $11 billion more than this year’s estimated receipts. In Rappahannock County, total income would have to rise by more than 12 percent for local residents to meet their share of this increase.
Amissville Riritan Supper April 1st
The Amissville RuritanClub is sponsoring a ham and turkey supped April 1, 1967 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Amissville fire hall. Price per plate is $1.50 for adults and $1.00 for children. The men of the Ruritan Club will prepare and serve the food as usual for this annual event. A portable T.V. and a transister radio will be given away following the supper. Proceeds from the supper will aid in carrying out the many community activities of the Ruritan Club.
