Hunters bagged 122 bears n Virginia during the 1966-67 season, just about half of the lumber taken last year, acsording to Game Commission 3ig Game Tag returns. Augusta and Aleghany Counties ied for highest kill with 14 :ach. Craig and Rockingham bounties had 10 reported kills :ach. Six bears were bagged rom western counties. Over the past 20 seasons, /irginia’s bear kill has averiged about 230 animals. The ill-time record was set in 1959 when 391 bears were aken.
