The Amlssville Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad is wealthier by $1600 since the annual banquet held Friday evening at the fire hall there. In addition to entertaining the firemen and guests, the Ladies Auxiliary presented the organization with a check in the amount of $1500. The Junior Firemen added another check for $100, and Ami6sville Ruritan Club gave a table to be added to the hall furnishing. Mrs. A. C. Latharrij treasurer of the Amlssville Ladies Auxiliary made the presentation for the Ladies and Earl Yancey, Jr. was spokesman for the Junior Firemen.
The Rev. Anthony Layman, pastor of Amlssville Methodist Church, gave the invocation prior to the delightful dinner served by the Ladies Auxiliary to the more than 125 attending. Ralph H. Rowzie, president of the fire company, was toastmaster and introduced Auxiliary president, Mrs. Russell Hackley, who welcomed the group.
