Emory Malcolm 'Mac" Rich ards, well-known fruit grower and cattleman of Washington, Va. died of a heart attack at his home March 14, 1967 at the age of 60. His survivors include two sisters Mrs. S. Louise Garrett of Alexandria and Mrs. Esther K. Waters of Arlington and one brother William B. Richards of Alexandria. He was a native of Frederick County, son of the late Archie H. and Nattie E. Burkholder Richards. Mr. Richards had lived in Rappahannock County for 25 years. A funeral service was held Saturday at the Washington Methodist Church at 11 a.m. officiated by the Rev. Edward Pruitt with interment in Columbia Cemetery at Arlington.
Serving as pallbearers were J. W. Coates, W. Arthur Miller, D. Lyle Miller, jr., Clarence Baldwin, Nelson Nethers and D. D. Miller.
Thomas S. Leake
Thomas Smith Leake, 73, of Cedar Grove, Culpeper, died Tuesday, March 21, 1967 in the Culpeper Memorial Hos pital after an Illness of several weeks. He was born in Sperryville, son of the late William Leake and Annie Pullen Leake. He was a member of the Sperryville Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Celeste Curtis Leake of the home address and four sisters; Mrs. Burton Long, Burlington, N. C„ Mrs. Joe Gardner and Mrs. George Stewart, both of Charleston, W. Va., and Mrs. Lester Mack of New Orleans, La.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p. m. in the Geest Funeral Chapel, Culpeper, conducted by the Rev. Edward C. Pruitt, with interment in the Curtis family section of Fairview Cemetery.
