G.’s litter, produced by his purebred Yorkshire, obtained through the Sears-Sow Chain, had an adjusted 56-Day weight of 513.84 pounds. They were the growthiest pigs of all litters of this number entered in the contest.

Alan Strawn of Bedford placed first with his litter jOf sixteen Yorkshires weighjing 657.60 pounds, thereby winning the $50 purchase certificate which will be honored at any sale held by Virginia Purebred Swine Producers.
Local 4-H winners expected to enter the contest this year include Joe Smith, Joan Welch Wayne Dodson, Lincoln Timbers, Bill Dodson and Steve ! Green, Of these enrolled in the 66-67 Sears Sow Chain, Joe Smith is the first to call and report his gilt had eleven live pigs. The minimum size litter to be eligible to enter ;the contest is eight.
