'Thornhill First in
Dist. Swine Contest

C. G. Thornhill’s litter of eleven pigs placed first in the district and fifth statewide in the 56 - Day Litter Weight Contest held in 1966. He is a member of the Rappahannock Senior 4-H Club and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Thornhill of Boston. The contest is sponsored by the Virginia Extension Service in cooperation with the Virginia Purebred Swine Breeders’ Association and is open to 4-H and FFA members in the state. Participation doubled in this contest as compared to that held a year earlier.
