Found Near Home
Mrs. Annie Mae Nicholson Jenkins, 32, of Woodville, who had been missing for sew eral days, was found dead Monday afternoon a half mile from her home. She apparent ly ventured out into the snow storm Thursday night, lost her way and died of exposure. According to Sheriff Charles K. Estes, Mrs. Jenkins was last seen Thursday night at her home when her husband Robert Festus Jenkins, her father, James Nicholson and her brother, Mack Nicholson left the Jenkins home to go to the stora The roads drifted closed and Mr. Jenkins was unable to get back home until late the following day. Believing her to be with other relatives, Mr. Jenkins did not report her missing until late Saturday night. A search by relatives, friends and officers failed to locate her until Monday afternoon when she was found by her brother-in-law Wesley Brown and her husband.
The body was sent to the University of Virginia Hospital for an autopsy. Obituary inside.
