State, County Tags
On Sale March 15
The 1968 Virginia auto license tags and Rappahannock County license tags will go on sale March 15. The State tags are sold at the Sperryvllle Corner Store by agent Wilson Burke. Hours for purchasing tags are from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. weekdays and from 8 a.m. until noon on Saturdays. Mr. Burke requests that applicants have their cards filled out with the necessary information in advance. He also advises that there is ample parking in the lot at the rear of the store. Rappahannock County tags are sold at the office of Robert L. Brown, County Treasurer in Washington. Hours for purchasing these tags are 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. until 12 noon on Saturdays. Personal property taxes must be paid and registration card stamped by Mrs. Roberta Spalding, Commissioner of the Revenue, before county tags may be bought.
The deadline for the purchase of both state and county tags is April 15.
