Mr. and Mrs. Lee L. Thorpe of Newsoms, Virginia announce the engagement of their daughter, Lynda Lee Thorpe, to Mr. Glenn Hartwell UpdikQ son of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Updike of Washington, Virginia.
Miss Thorpe is a graduate of Mary Washington College where she was a member of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. She is presently teaching Home Economics at Franklin High School, Franklin, Virginia. Mr. Updike, a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute is employed with the V.P.I. Cooperative Extension Service in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
An April wedding is planned.
