Chapman has been Carillpnneur of the Luray Singing Tower since it was dedicated in 1937. Mr. Chapman is world renowned and recognized as one of America’s greatest Carillonneurs. He is frequently invited to dedication recitals and other special events throughout the country. The Luray instrument is a genuine Carillon of 47 bronze bells, the largest weighingalmost four tons. It has created widespread interest a mong mtr sicians and composers. Over 100 compositions by 20 American and foreign composers have been written especially for Mr. Chapman.
